Collaborative electronics design
What you can do in PCBHub
Projects, people and engineering tools in one workspace. Find your workflow and explore its capabilities and current limitations.
PCBHub is evolving. Tools depend on your permissions, and integrations require connected services. Each section explains its current scope.
Team collaboration
Invite colleagues, discuss decisions and work on the schematic together.
- Email invitations and roles for viewing, commenting, editing and access management.
- Shared schematic-sheet editing, participant presence and cursors.
- Project chat, discussions and invitation notifications.
- Revoke or block access and review changes with author information.
Project → Members; editor → Collaboration, Chat, Discussions.
Keep in mind
Shared sessions cover one schematic sheet. An invitation link does not grant anonymous public access.
Projects and versions
Keep KiCad files, versions and team work together.
- Import a ZIP or create a new schematic in the browser.
- Cards with schematic and 3D previews, version selection and project-copy selection within an archive.
- File search, folder navigation, folder renaming and removal of unwanted files.
- Project renaming, export and a trash bin with restoration by the SaaS owner within 30 days.
Projects → project card → Versions and Version properties.
Keep in mind
Removing files within an archive is permanent and does not create a new version. The 30-day trash retention applies to whole projects.
Schematic editor
Create and edit KiCad schematics directly in your browser.
- Symbols, wires, buses, labels, power symbols, text and graphics.
- Library selection, component properties, values and footprints.
- Group moving, copying, rotation, alignment and wire editing.
- Search and net highlighting, electrical checks, Undo/Redo, drafts and version saving.
Open project → Open in editor → Schematic.
Keep in mind
Editing permission is required. Some KiCad constructs have limited support; verify exported results in your workflow.
Boards and routing
Inspect board layers and connections and use the PCB editing tools.
- Layers, copper, vias, holes, fills, board outline and net highlighting.
- Move and rotate components and edit track segments and vias.
- Ratsnest, routing assistance, DRC, dimensions, text and layer graphics.
- Drafts, history, Undo/Redo and KiCad version publishing.
Viewer → PCB; for administrators → editor → PCB.
Keep in mind
PCB editing is currently limited to the SaaS administrator. Simultaneous board editing, shove routing and full autorouting are not available.
3D viewer
Inspect the board and components from different angles before assembly.
- Rotate, zoom and pan the board with component models.
- Switch between schematic, PCB, 3D and BOM in the workspace.
- Shared 3D model library and project asset references.
- Missing-model reporting and board previews in the project list.
Project → 3D or editor → 3D.
Keep in mind
Component models must be available. Unsaved PCB changes do not automatically synchronize with 3D.
Multi-board devices
Combine a motherboard and its modules into a device project.
- Merge selected projects while preserving their originals.
- Separate module boards and a device-wide BOM.
- Create a combined sheet from supported flat schematics.
- Position and rotate boards in 3D, save the assembly and align connector contacts.
Projects → Merge projects → Device overview / 3D assembly.
Keep in mind
Matching net names alone do not connect different modules. Board alignment does not automatically check mechanical collisions.
Simulation and analysis
Check circuit behavior and compare analysis results.
- DC, AC and transient analysis, voltage/current plots, probes and measurements.
- Parameter studies, FFT/THD, noise and stability analysis.
- SPICE model search, import, editing and pin mapping.
- Component modeling, RF and thermal tools for supported models.
- Background runs, logs, scenarios and export of plots and results.
Schematic editor → Simulator; additional analyses are in its tools.
Keep in mind
Suitable models, sources, loads and correct pin mapping are required. Results depend on the model and analysis; simulation does not replace physical testing.
Component libraries
Find symbols, footprints and component resources.
- Search and preview KiCad symbols and footprints.
- Custom symbol editor and workspace libraries.
- Link real parts by manufacturer and MPN.
- Datasheets, images, 3D models and data sources in component cards.
Editor → View → KiCad libraries; component properties.
Keep in mind
Resources appear when data and a component match are available. Workspace permissions control custom-library access.
BOM and consistency checks
Get the parts list for the project copy you are working on.
- Schematic-derived BOM, part grouping and search by reference, value, package or MPN.
- Compare schematic and board, inspect mismatch warnings and navigate to affected parts.
- Match against inventory and inspect available quantities and missing parts.
- Component details, bulk actions and purchase-list preparation.
Project → Bill of materials (BOM).
Keep in mind
Review automatic matches, especially generic values without an MPN. Select the correct project version and copy.
Component inventory
Know which parts your team already has and where they are stored.
- Part cards, manufacturers, MPNs, values and shop links.
- Storage locations, receipts, issues and quantity adjustments.
- Inventory movements and individual part history.
- Shared inventory data for BOMs, procurement and assembly tasks.
Workspace sidebar → Inventory.
Keep in mind
Stock belongs to a workspace. Creating a part card or selecting a shop product does not count as receiving stock.
Procurement and assembly
Go from BOM to part selection, purchasing and stock receipt.
- Purchase lists from a BOM, required quantities and Mouser part selection.
- Mouser search: part numbers, prices, availability and product links.
- CSV export; send items through Cart API when access is active.
- Record an externally placed order and receive parts partially or in full.
- Assembly tasks, matching requirements to stock and completion tracking.
BOM → Procurement; menu → Manufacturing and procurement.
Keep in mind
Mouser requires an API connection and has quotas. Cart API needs separate activation; transfer to the website cart is unverified. Payment and checkout happen with the supplier; stock increases on receipt.
Workspaces and administration
Separate team workspaces and manage service access.
- Personal and shared workspaces, members, roles and activity history.
- Ukrainian and English interfaces, themes and account settings.
- SaaS owner console: customers, users, metrics and filtered lists.
- Project trash, restoration within 30 days and subsequent file cleanup.
Workspace menu; for the SaaS owner → SaaS owner console.
Keep in mind
System administration and trash restoration are restricted to the SaaS owner. Workspace roles do not grant system privileges.
Give your team a shared place to work
